Step 1 – Up there perched.

Climbing trees, letting yourself be carried into the heart of the summits, gaining height… a child’s dream for many. On site at Domaine Le Vaxergues, right by your cottage, Rémi will guide you towards this new sensory approach. An exploration of nature which awakes our senses to learn but also to understand the laws of nature. Climbing trees is a green leisure activity where the climber is in symbiosis with the tree, providing a well-being and relaxing condition.

Looking for a thrill? Choose the pendulum jump! Explore the magic world of trees. It is so nice to reconnect with the sensations of childhood, when, carefree, we were climbing trees.

Step 2 – Immerse yourself at the heart of the Combalou.

Underground walks amateurs or only looking for coolness during the summer, sweetness in winter, this experience in a world with unreal settings is made for you.

Once you've completed the approach walk to the foot of the cliffs, put your wetsuits on. Immerse yourself in the heart of the Combalou, inside this world hidden under our feet, where time stands still – silence and beauty within easy reach.

Beginner or expert, Guillaume from ExploNature adjusts himself to your wishes and lets you discover all our natural richness, from horizontal initiation caves to underground cavities. 2 hours where Guillaume will take the time to initiate you to this environment, explaining the formation of the Grands Causses karstic massif and its fragile biodiversity. You're in for a real treat!

Step 3 – The Gourmet break.

have lunch at Le Pont Neuf restaurant where Jérome’s cooking gives prominence to homemade by highlighting quality products from our “aveyronnais” local. Like this you will be tempted by Roquefort-based dishes, Aveyronnais veal, Aubrac beef, lamb sweetbreads and aligot. Unmissable moment, end the meal with a trilogy of Roquefort!

Step 4 – In beekeeper’s shoes.

In the Pays du Roquefort, we have ewes but also bees! They gather nectar in a patchwork of landscapes, between Rougier, Causses, heaths, and valleys, on a dozen sites rich in biodiversity, preserved by passionate farmers. Follow Nadia and Bruno for a real immersion inside bees’ world. Share a moment of amazement before the world of bees, improve your link with nature!

Glazed hives, open hives in total safety and short movies about hives: it is all there for you to discover, with all 5 senses awakened, the world of bees in real time, and the contemporary profession of organic beekeeper!

Observe the live opening of a hive, without any risk, and enjoy the macro details thanks to a live camera. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to witness a birth!

Discover the inside of a beehive, the wax and smell its scent live, assemble and disassemble a hive to understand how it works, take a frame of honey in your hand.

Learn to recognise the different types of bees, their daily harvest, their exchanges, and take part in the extraction of honey (during the harvest period) in the workshop...

After this personal meeting with our bees, what could be better than a tasting? During an introduction to organoleptic analysis of flavours, you will have at least 10 honeys to taste. Will you know how to identify wooded, floral, and wild hints in our honeys?

Inside the protected environment, the Domaine Le Vaxergues is an ideal place for nature lovers. At the heart of its 3-hectares park, we can find an organic vegetable garden, a vineyard, a henhouse, wild rabbits, and squirrels at the bottom of your holiday cottage.
